Hi, Joanna’s friend!
I’m Rumi, and I can help you overcome obstacles and publish your debut book.
You may have colleagues who love your talks and say, “You’ve gotta write a book about that!”
You may be a voracious reader who sees a gap in the leadership book market you’re poised to fill.
Maybe one of your tweets struck a chord with people. And you have much more to say about that topic.
Or, you’ve always wanted to hold a book with your name on it, and now is the time to pursue your dream.
Whatever your motivation—and whatever is in your way—I can be a sherpa on your path to authorship, providing coaching, editing, and self-publishing expertise. We’ll hone your unique voice and get it down on the pages. We’ll go from idea to done.
My Secret Sauce
My secret sauce as a first-time author coach is to prioritize completion.
All book writers experience fear of the unknown; it’s a beast in many guises. My own attempts to write a book repeatedly fell short. Some statistics show that well over 97% of books stay on someone’s cloud drive, never to see the light of day, even if the manuscript is nearly finished. I know that demoralized feeling well.
So, how did I overcome my own demons? I learned to create momentum by finishing often.
I wrote a book where each chapter could stand alone. In one case, the entire chapter had only eleven words. I designed a book structure that was tailor-made for me to cross the finish line with relative ease and to claim the author's title.
I don’t make everyone I coach write like I do—the point is to structure the book and the writing to work for who and how you are. I help people open their minds to creating something unconventional. You don’t need to make yourself produce a book that follows a cookie-cutter template to be a respected author. What you need is a surefire way to finish the work.
How I Work With New Clients
I often start with a small package—articles, op-eds, or essays. I write with you, and you enjoy (with full credit) the satisfaction of completing one to three finished projects. These pieces may become the basis of your book, or you might submit them to Entrepreneur.com, Business Insider, Forbes.com, or an industry publication if that feels like the right move.
If we get in a groove, we’ll map out the shape and content of your one-of-a-kind book after that.
My hourly consulting rate is $199.
And I offer Joanna's friends the first 30-minute call at no charge.
